Sarah Sweeney

1. What’s your volunteer role? Serving food, washing up and chatting with people at Restaurant night, Catch of the Day and OWLS lunch club. I also support a wheelchair user at Friday shopping.
2. How long have you been a volunteer? Since about September 2016.
3. Why did you get involved? My own isolation and loneliness drew me to see where volunteers were needed. I thrive on working with older people.
4. Three words that sum up BEA for you? Amazing community spirit.
5. What do you get out of volunteering? Self worth. It puts value on my life and builds confidence and trust within myself.
6. What else do you like doing? Playing and watching football. Being with nature. Photography.
