Angela Yeoman

  1. What’s your volunteer role? I phone people we’ve had no contact with for a while to see if they’re OK, if they need any of our services and to check that they receive the newsletter regularly.
  2. How long have you been a volunteer? Since December 2016.Angela Yeoman
  3. Why did you get involved? I’m semi-retired. To use my skills, to give something back to the community and because I have experience of working with older people.
  4. Three words that sum up BEA for you? Charity for local people
  5. What do you get out of volunteering? Giving something back. Working with a group of people I admire.
  6. What else do you like doing? My life is around my two dogs (a Siberian husky and a staffy cross) who are quite boisterous! I also volunteer for the Royal British Legion, at their drop-in and doing casework across West Yorkshire.
  7. Where were you born? Irvine, Ayrshire (Scotland). Robbie Burns’ country.
  8. What’s your favourite film? Any version of ‘A Christmas Carol’
  9. And your favourite book?  ‘A child called “It” ‘ (Dave Pelzer) but I don’t read much nowadays.
  10. Tell us one interesting fact about yourself I have donated bone marrow, which went to someone in Canada.
