After completing my degree in Media Technology at Leeds Metropolitan University I worked in a number of technical roles and technology still plays a major part in my life. I spent some time in Germany working as a journalist for BFBS Radio, producing and delivering community news bulletins which introduced me to community based work.
In 2010 I qualified as a Youth and Community worker with a DPS (Diploma in Professional Studies). As part of my studies I did my first placement supporting the people of Todmorden at the the Acorn Centre. I also assisted young people in radio production at Phoenix Radio in Halifax. At Lifeline I was a volunteer coordinator for a project delivering alcohol awareness. My drive comes from working with people to make their lives better along with strengthening their communities.
These days, much of my free time is taken up by my two daughters who keep me young and exhausted. The two minutes I do get to myself is usually devoured by either listening to or playing music. I also enjoy the outdoors and love exploring new places.
Please come and say hello.
