Rebecca Durrant

Transport Worker / Support Worker (Bramley Lawn)

I started working for Bramley Elderly Action in April 2014 to help organise the transport list, arrange maintenance for the minibuses, fill in driving where needed, help with groups and help out in the office.Rebecca Durrant

Previously to working for BEA I worked for Stanningley and Swinnow Live at Home Scheme, which I enjoyed.  I was involved in all aspects of the scheme from administration and accounts to cooking lunches, driving and running the trips.

I have found that working with volunteers and helping the members is very rewarding.

I was born in Castleford but over the years I have move from Doncaster, Tadcaster, Aberdeen, Knaresborough and Wetherby to end up in Bramley where I have been since 1996.

Over the years I have been involved in both the Red Cross and St John’s doing first aid at events since I was very young and only really gave it up when I had my three children who now take up most of my spare time.   I enjoy cooking and looking after my herb garden, which helps with the cooking. I also read fantasy books and love watching films.
