On Fri 10th October 2014, the much anticipated Bramley Lawn will receive its Grand Opening. The space is being transformed by Bramley Elderly Action to create a welcoming environment with a programme of activities designed to make later-life a whirl of social and learning opportunities, and also to provide support for people with dementia and their carers.
Please join us for the Grand Opening from 12.30-5.00, for afternoon tea and a look around the new centre. Rachel Reeves MP will officially open Bramley Lawn at 1.00pm, setting us off on a new exciting journey. Bramley Lawn is at Rossfield, Approach, Bramley, LS13 3RG. Here’s a googlemap to help you find us. Parking is available on site and on-street in front of Bramley Lawn and the building is fully wheelchair accessible.
Bramley Lawn is being re-modelled to offer a drop-in facility and social space that can be enjoyed by elders from across West Leeds. As well as a regular programme of activities, the space will be available for hire by local groups and organisations – for their own classes, meetings or events and for private functions. It has capacity for up to 100 people.
Bramley Lawn will re-open with an accessible garden, which we hope will continue to be developed by a gardening club and enjoyed by anyone who visits. Bramley Lawn will initially open for three days a week – Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – with support from two dedicated workers, offering a programme of activities which will be fully revealed at our Grand Opening.
We’re hoping that Bramley Lawn will inspire new creative ideas about ways to spend time together, have fun, learn new skills and share knowledge with each other, as well as enabling BEA Members and many others in the area to enjoy more evening and weekend socialising together.
We’re looking for volunteers to support some of the ideas we’re developing. If you are an experienced barber, a creative gardener, or a male choir leader, please get in touch (click this) – we’d love to hear from you.
